Downtown Construction Update
Below are some updates regarding the construction projects taking place Downtown this summer. If you wish to be removed from this mailing list, please reply and indicate your preference in the body of the email.
Gerrard St East and West Watermain Replacement & Road reconstruction Update
Staring Monday, July 18, 2016 the contractor will move into the western limit of the work zone from University Avenue to Elizabeth Street. As a result of this work, Gerrard Street will be limited to one lane of construction in each direction; Construction Update #3 attached.
Elm Street Watermain Replacement
The watermain replacement work on Elm Street from University Avenue to Elizabeth Street is nearing completion, the contractor is waiting for water test results and is on schedule to complete work by the end of July.
Richmond St Watermain & Road Reconstruction
The Richmond Street watermain construction is progressing from Yonge Street to Bay Street as a result, the lane restrictions on Yonge Street at Richmond Street will be removed Friday, July 15 at 6 p.m.
Bay Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction from 7:00 a.m. Monday, July 18 to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, July 23 for watermain construction along Richmond Street.
A safety barricade will be placed around the work area. This barrier will provide a safe buffer area between construction work and pedestrians. Pedestrian access to businesses and walkways will be maintained at all times during construction.
The intersection adjustments at College & Bay Street are now complete.
Honda Indy Road Closures:
From Wednesday July 13, 2016 through Friday July 29, 2016 there will be daily road closures due to track construction for the Honda Indy. Please see link below for detailed road closure information
